SPLENDOR SP-1003 Glass Sealant is a single-component silicone elastomer intended for use as a secondary sealant in a dual-sealed insulating glass unit, and can be used in a unit that is structural glazed. It cures in the presence of atmospheric moisture to produce a durable, high-modulus, flexible silicone seal that is chemically stable and shows little change in physical propertied with weathering.
Main uses
Ideal for butt or corner joints between glass to glass and bonding glass to aluminium:
1. Conforms to BS 5889 Type B
2. Highly tran***rent
3. Excellent adhesion on glass, aluminium and ceramic tile
4. Stays flexible over a wide temperature range-50 to +150
5. Application temperature range +5 to +40.
Characteristic
1. One -part, acetoxy room temperature cure, easy to apply.
2. Excellent contact-change ability, no seasonal limited use.
3. Excellent adhesion to most building materials.
4. Outstanding weatherproofing ability, with service life of tens of years.
5. Medium or low modulus, excellent tensile and compression restoring ability.
Application
1. Clean with solvents such as toluene or acetone to keep the substrate surfaces completely clean and dry.
2. For better appearance cover outside of joint areas with masking taps before application.
3. Cut nozzle to desired size and extrudes sealant to joint areas.
4. Tool immediately after sealant application and remove masking tape before sealant skins.
Limitations
1. Don't use to the joints, which is hidden in earth for long time.
2. Don't use in areas where no moisture has.
3. Don't use in places where have permeated grease, plasticizer or solvent such as wood permeated oil, uncured or half-cured resins, etc.
4. The surfaces coated with paint are unsuitable for sealant.
5. The products have poor adhesion to concrete, marble, mirror-glass, Zn-plated materials because of corrosion produced by acetoxy sealant. In this case, please select neutral silicone sealant. |
